This slender space is warm, elegant and extremely cozy. No one seems to mind sitting elbow-to-elbow as they pay top dollar---Capo is indeed one of the city's priciest Italian restaurants---for a pared-down, orderly selection of classics… Read Full Editorial
Great attention to detail by JoshStanley via Citysearch on 8/16/2010
It was the perfect spot for our anniversary. The Ma?tre?d remembered me from my birthday celebration last November and took extremely great care of us. From the bread to the homemade gelato and everything in-between we could not have had…
Very disappointing by LeylaAli via Citysearch on 1/9/2009
We were extremely disappointed with Capo. The food was terrible, not only for one of us but few of us and we had to send it back, the fish was raw... service was not good at all and on top of it we got charged a 20% service fee without any…
Outstanding in every respect... food, service,... by Arj via Menuism on 9/15/2008
Outstanding in every respect... food, service, wine list... One of the best LA has to offer.
Capo, small space, great food! by Evelyn C via Insider Pages on 5/17/2008
We had an early dinner and it was great the restaurant it's a bit too small but it wasn't too crowded at that time. The interior was very nice, the service was great and the food was excellent. I Also loved their wine list. I will be back!

Amazing in every way by foodlova5 via Citysearch on 7/30/2007
I have eaten at Capo at least 5 or 6 times and each time was memorable. It's a small sophisticated, yet relaxed venue that's always busy but never too loud to hear the people you're with. A wood burning fire is always going in the back…
Ambiance and Gnocchi by mcnamarastvn via Citysearch on 6/11/2007
By far one of the most exclusive places in Santa Monica, with very much a modern Italian feel. The wine list is pretty extensive with some very interesting bottles of wine, although some seemed to me to cost a little bit more than I would…
Bring Money...or else! by galahadshorse via Citysearch on 5/28/2007
I have to start this by saying that I don't mind spending top dollar for good food. But if you're a restaurant that's going to charge $$$$ for food and service you'd better be willing to live up to the standards you've set for yourselves.…
Snug, romantic atmosphere. Phenomenal breads and primo wines. by babystrange via Citysearch on 5/10/2007
The service was a tad stuck up. They could seat us without reservations but needed the table in an hour and a half and made that VERY clear to us. Otherwise the food was top notch, in small, filling portions. So good I ordered dessert…
Another disappointed customer... by themrs via Citysearch on 8/23/2006
My husband and I first went to Capo on the night of our engagement three years ago. It was great. And we've been there three times since. But, we just went again last Saturday night for our Anniversary and it will probably be our last. …
No restaurant is worth rude service by beach via Citysearch on 3/25/2006
It's like deja vu. I remember eating at Capo a year ago, food was satisfactory, but the service was substandard, cold and rude. I happened there by chance a few evenings ago, and that will be my LAST time there. Sorry, Bruce, and crew;…
I hate to say this, but... by propulsive via Citysearch on 3/8/2006
I've dined at Capo 3 times, and the first two times were lovely dining experiences. However, this most recent visit last Friday (after my last visit of September) dissappointed me. First off, me and my party were seated at the table next…
Just Say No to Capo by missblogthing via Citysearch on 1/24/2006
My boyfriend and I went here for our birthdays. We live close and eat out quite often, I've tried and enjoy many of the top restaurants in LA. I didn't like Capo at all. We got the tasting menu and everything was laden with butter. The…
Truly ARROGANT policies by lilisoo via Citysearch on 1/23/2006
Having read many good reviews about this restaurant, I finally rounded up 10 of my family members to have a delectable dining evening at Capo. When I called to make the reservation, I was shocked to hear that in order to have a table of…
Disappointing by jrs847 via Citysearch on 1/17/2006
Price isn't just a matter of what you can afford. Price also signals a level of quality and sophistication, and, whether I can afford it or not, I expect a lot from a restaurant that offers few entrees for less than $45. What I do NOT…
Excellent Place That's Not So Excellent by Andrew S via Insider Pages on 12/19/2005
Everybody raves about Capo and there's a lot to rave about. The room is warm, welcoming and feels more like a great NYC restaurant that Santa Monica. Everything seems done right. The wine list, the menu, etc. But I've got to say the…
I don't get it... by poptarts via Citysearch on 8/3/2005
I have eaten at Capo twice (fortunately, as someone else's guest) and can't understand what all the hoo-ha is about. Both times I had pasta (it IS an Italian restaurant). The mushroom risotto was very salty and the 3 pastas I had on…
Had to post our thoughts by jpage70 via Citysearch on 2/13/2005
After I read the post below i felt compeled to write our experience. My wife and I finally made the trip to this small Italian restaurant and it was worth it. The ambience was romantic and the food outstanding. What flavors. The…
Maitre'd Dennis belongs in clown college by cgilarde via Citysearch on 1/18/2005
The Maitre d' at this restaurant managed to pull of the triple crown. He insulted us on the way into the restuarant, he ignored us during the meal, and was rude on the way out. The food is in fact good here, but to be treated as a…
More than just great Italian by tusc2000 via Citysearch on 6/14/2004
No doubt, this is a very expensive restaurant, know that going in. The steaks at Capo were outstanding, tender, delicious, perfectly grilled. The vegetables were interesting and very good. The sole and salmon were excellent too.
We…
