Rami Manochakian, M.D.

Rami Manochakian, M.D. is a thoracic medical oncologist who joined Mayo Clinic in 2017. He specializes in treating patients with thoracic malignancies including lung cancer, mesothelioma, and thymic tumors. Prior to Mayo Clinic, he was the director of the lung cancer program at the Cleveland VA Medical Center where he was the recipient of a major VA grant to improve veterans' access to lung cancer care. Dr. Manochakian is actively involved in clinical research to help advance the oncology field, and has developed and run several cancer clinical trials. He is a passionate educator and a leader in medical education, serving as the Vice Chair of Education for the Division of Hematology/Oncology and the Program Director for Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Florida. He serves in education and advisory roles on national and international medical societies including the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), American Lung Association (ALA) and International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC). When asked about his work at Mayo Clinic, Dr. Manochakian says "I could not be any prouder of being a member of an institution and a team that inspire hope and provide comprehensive and multidisciplinary care, driven by the most meaningful primary value, which is that the needs of the patient come first." Dr. Manochakian is a member of Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center.
