Dereck Davy Phrathep, PhD

Dr. Phrathep is a pediatric psychologist at Johns Hopkins All Children’s. He specializes in sports psychology, general mood and anxiety concerns. He joined the hospital staff in 2025.

Dr. Phrathep’s clinical and research interests include athlete mental health, performance psychology, injury recovery, identity development, outreach, and treatment engagement and accessibility.

Dr. Phrathep earned his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He completed an internship and postdoctoral fellowship in clinical sport psychology at University of Southern California Athletics Department/Counseling and Mental Health.

He also earned a Master of Business Administration in management and leadership from Florida Gulf Coast University.
