I have had issues with the unit every single year. I have spoken directly with I bought my house 2.5 years ago new construction with Sharp Residential. This is a high-end neighborhood with my house valued around 600k. Everything is great with the home with the exception of the upstairs heating and air conditioning unit. We had problems with it from day 1. Staton Heating and Air - license # CR109032 did the installation. They have been out to my house every single summer multiple times because the unit will not cool properly. They have done various repairs and service calls, but the unit has always struggled, and wouldn’t cool right. This has driven the electrical costs up a ton. The unit has frozen, leaked, cut off, not cooled, and last year they even had to replace the coil in the unit.
the owner last year and he repaired the unit, replaced the coil, and apologized. I have spent so much time and money on this ac unit, and I cannot continue to try to fix this situation. Our energy bills are way too high and the upstairs never cools. I’ve heard all the excuses from filter issues, leaks, and even that the inside can only get cooler by 10 degrees of the outside. Ridiculous. If it is 100 degrees outside, they want me to believe that the inside will be 90.
7 days ago, my unit stopped working again to continue the summer trend. I called the office and let them know what was going on. Leslie said the filter needed to be the cheap kind that let more air through so I drove to Home Depot and got a new cheaper filter. That did not help so I lost that day for repairs, and have to drive out in the middle of the night to buy a stand alone unit last night for $500 to get buy while me, my wife, and 3 kids are sleeping in 1 room on the floor.
It has been 7 days with no one even calling me back. I have left messages for Mark the owner at the number he gave me, and I have to call back to get answers. They said they couldn’t get out to me for a few days, and then said the GM would not take care of the issue. They even recommended I use another company to get it fixed. My interactions with the owner Mark last year have been professional and pleasant, but I can’t even get him to contact me this year.
Today, 7/05/18 I spoke to Darryl who treated me so poorly I can’t even describe it to you. I actually hung up on him in mid-sentence because he showed no empathy and was very condescending. He told me to call the builder and that this was not their issue. I never had spoken to him before – he never introduced himself. I think they are all trying to keep me from getting back to the owner who I feel would fix the issue because the part is covered by warranty.
I had to pay an attorney to get involved, and I am willing to go the distance. I have time and resources to get this into the open. I have contacted the BBB and, I have contacted the regulatory board, and they are looking into the issue. I am being forced to sue them, and this is the first bad review I have ever written because I have respect for business owners and would never try to hurt any business.
I had my Father, Uncle, Mother, Brother-in-law, Sister, Wife, and 3 kids her for the 4th of July enduring this heat. This is to help anyone using this company. You have been warned.
