Dr. Lewis was born and raised in the Quad Cities and graduated from United Township High School in 1997. She graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine in 2004 after completing her undergraduate education at the school’s Edwardsville campus. She practiced for over a year in St. Charles County in Missouri, outside of St. Louis. Dr. Lewis moved to Decatur after purchasing the dental practice of Dr. Douglas Nichols in January of 2006.
Dr. Lewis is active in state and local dentistry organizations. She has served on the Board of Trustees for the Illinois State Dental Society as well as state committees. She has been proposed for membership in the International College of Dentists, where she will be inducted in 2015. She has appeared on the cover of Dentistry Today, a national dental magazine.
She is married to Dr. Haarman. They have a son, Paul, who was born in January of 2012 and a daughter, Agnes, who was born in September 2014. Drs. Lewis and Haarman also have two dogs and two cats. They love to travel, cook, and spend time with their busy family! Dr. Lewis is an active member of P.E.O, serving as president of Chapter GR from 2013-2015. Locally she has been active in the Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation and currently serves on the Advisory Board for St. Mary’s Hospital.
