Sports guards are mouth appliances worn by athletes on upper arch teeth in competitive and recreational sports in which impact, contact and collision can occur. They can be designed and custom fitted to a patient based on the sport they will be playing. They protect teeth from fracture, loss, or from being intruded back into the jaw.

MouthGuards / Nightguards Glen Ellyn IL
Grinding and or clenching your teeth (bruxsim) is a common mouth habit that effects 1 in 10 adults. This habit happens at night while you sleep and can also occur during the day when experiencing stressful situations (driving in traffic, work/school situations, etc). The results of this habit, over time, can be heavy tooth wear, gum irritation, tooth fractures, head and neck muscle soreness and jaw joint pain. Mouth Guards (Nightguards and Occlusal Guards) are appliances that are worn by the patient to help prevent these symptoms. The appliance is made of a hard plastic that is custom fitted to your top or bottom teeth. The guard can be worn at night while you sleep or during the day when stressed. They come in many shapes and sizes depending on each patient's needs. The goal of wearing a guard will help you protect your teeth, manage your muscle discomfort, and provide support to your jaw joint.

Dr. Jungblut is the best dentist in Glen Ellyn. She always greets me with a smile and does excellent work. When I wanted to begin treatment to whiten my teeth she explained to me all the options and what the process typically looks like. She was able to set me up with everything I needed quickly to start the process and showed me what to expect results to look like at different time intervals. She also is extremely patient and kind during my visits.
I had suffered an injury to my mouth area that caused pain during routine visits and she was very gentle and communicated what she would be doing so I was aware what was coming and also allowed for breaks when I needed them.
Also, I had no dental insurance last year, as I was still in college, and I signed up for Glen Ellyn Smiles dental membership plan. For 2 dental exams, x-rays, cleanings, etc. it came out to be $212 less than if I had paid for it separately. It saved me a lot of money and stress. I cannot recommend Dr. Jungblut more highly!

Robin has been my dentist for over 6 years now and is amazing. Her staff is very polite and handles you with care and tries to get to know you in a personal level. They helped me get mold done for my nightguard and it has helped my sleeping, and teeth health greatly! They are even so nice to clean it every time I go back for a cleaning for free.
Couldn't find a better dentist.

Dr. Jungblut provides outstanding, comprehensive dental care. Her level of expertise, state-of-the-art dental office, and proactive staff have guided me through a decade of visits. Dr. Jungblut offered much needed guidance as I neared retirement and needed to make plans for procedures that needed to be addressed immediately. In this time of COVID restrictions, I was concerned about visiting offices for my 6 month checkup. I was greatly relieved to hear that Dr. Jungblut and her staff put in place every possible precaution to guarantee her office space and equipment would not be a source of viral contamination and her staff had every possible form of PPE at their disposal to guarantee I was safe before, during, and after my cleaning. I was contacted prior to my office visit and had the opportunity to ask all the questions I needed to ask to reassure myself. Her staff was professional and so patient as they answered my questions. So very grateful for such excellent care.
