Renuka Patel, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, opened TrueCARE Integrative Medicine so she could treat the root cause of her patient’s health conditions instead of just managing their symptoms. 
The integrative, restorative, and functional medicine practice manages a wide range of health needs, from treating anxiety and depression to gut health and autoimmune diseases. Ms. Patel also focuses on preventive care, offering nutrition and weight management treatments.
Ms. Patel has been a practicing board-certified family nurse practitioner since 2008. She earned her undergraduate degree in nursing from Aurora University in Aurora, Illinois, and her graduate degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. Her interest in the medical field started as a desire to help others through medicine, making a real difference in patients’ lives. 
After practicing conventional medicine and chronic disease management for more than 12 years, Ms. Patel felt something was missing. Traditional medical care focuses on treating the symptoms, not the patient.
Ms. Patel started TrueCARE Integrative Medicine out of a desire to return to her roots. She meets patients where they are, taking into account the individual factors that influence their health and removing the barriers that keep them from reaching long-term wellness. Having earned a Full Practice Authority license, Ms. Patel is able to lead her practice independently, without needing supervising physician.
At TrueCARE Integrative Medicine, Ms. Patel combines the best of science-backed Western medicine with alternative methods, holistic treatments, and integrative therapies to keep the body balanced and healthy. 
Through interventions like lifestyle coaching, nutritional supplements, exercise, innovative lab tests, and bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, Ms. Patel collaborates with her patients to create and maintain a personalized care plan that achieves better health.
