What is Quarter Sawn Lumber.

There are three different types of wood cuts. Quarter sawn is considered the best cut method. Plain sawn is the most common because it is the fastest to cut and it produces the least amount of waste. However, plain sawn boards will tend to cup and warp in the direction opposing the curve of annual growth rings in the wood. Plain sawn boards also tend to expand and contract much more. Quarter sawn boards are simply much more stable than plain sawn which is a large reason why fine furniture and cabinet makers have traditionally used them. Aesthetically the finished woodwork has an increased depth and distinction that further differentiates quarter sawn wood from plain sawn.

Beautiful Floors in Kitchen and Foyer by petersweber on 11/4/2020

Bogdan came in short notice during our remodeling project. He was prompt, professional, and friendly, and made our ugly floors look great. He also went out of his way to fix some difficult trim areas. His workmanship was excellent, and we would highly recommend him to anyone who needs hardwood flooring work done. Our floors are restored to their natural beauty now thanks to Bogdan's expertise, skill, and workmanship.

This is the second time I've used BD Hardwood Floors for refinishing projects. The projects were completed promptly and professionally. The equipment used reduces the dust in the environment. My 60 year old floor looks brand new again! I would not hesitate to use BD Hardwood Floors again and neither should you.

BD installed floors throughout my house and I'm not very happy...Lots of squeaking and boards seperating already...The doorjams look like crap too. A couple of boards lifting up and several gouges in the flooring that were mentioned prior to finishing were not addressed.....I have contacted to rectify and I get no response....spent 10000 on my project and need to hire an additional contractor to fix this mess!

Bo did an excellent job. We had Bo finish our hardwood floor throughout our home. My husband was extremely impressed with the dustless sanding. There was no dust.

Bo finished the work on time. Gave us excellent advice for color and finish. Would recommend him to anyone.
