Dr. Icaza is the Medical Director and founder of Springfield Clinic Bariatrics. A patient-focused, evidence-based comprehensive program treating all levels of obesity. Dr. Icaza has over 20 years of experience performing bariatric surgery and has operated on over 5,000 bariatric patients. Dr. Icaza developed the Duodenal-Jejunal Bypass Sleeve (DJBS) procedure. He and his partner performed the first Single Anastomosis Duodenal-Ileal (SADI) procedure in Springfield and were the first in the region to embrace outpatient bariatric surgery. With board certifications in general surgery, bariatric surgery and obesity medicine, Dr. Icaza offers a multitude of obesity treatment options including lifestyle changes, obesity medications and the most current bariatric surgery procedures.
