Founded in 1987 by Jim Hunter, O.D., and Paul Walton, M.D., Eye Specialists of Indiana (ESI) is the states first and longest-standing dedicated cataract referral center. Our doctors limit their practice to the treatment of adult ocular disorders and are full-time specialists in the treatment and management of cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma. Dr. Walton has personally performed more than 60,000 successful cataract procedures, making him a uniquely experienced surgeon in Indiana and one of the most experienced cataract surgeons in the nation. Collectively, our team of doctors has more than 100 years experience in restoring vision to their patients. ESI was established 30 years ago to support and enhance the practice of optometry in Indiana by co-managing patient care with state-wide primary care optometrists. Our clinic and surgery center work in tandem with referring eye doctors to ensure each patient is receiving comprehensive and coordinated surgical eye care.
