Susan M. Bankston, MD

Dr. Susan M. Bankston earned her B.S. in Zoology from LSU in 1984 and went on to earn her M.D. from the LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport in 1988. She interned in Pediatrics at Earl K. Long Hospital in Baton Rouge from 1988-1989 and then performed her residency in Pediatrics at the LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport from 1993-96. In 1996 she joined the American Board of Pediatrics and became a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics in 1998. Licensed in the state of Louisiana, she holds certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

Dr. Bankston has served as former President of the Capital Area Medical Society, the Louisiana State Medical Society and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She has served on the Board of Directors of The Baton Rouge Clinic and is on The Baton Rouge Clinic's Executive Committee. Dr. Bankston has served on the Board of Governors of the Louisiana State Medical Society.
