Favorite spot!!! by Jane D via Insider Pages on 10/29/2014

This is one of my favorite spots! It's a little hole-in-the-wall that you can BYOB to, enjoy the great food and have a blast with the staff...very fun!!!

Dude needs to expand by ctcardman via Citysearch on 9/3/2011

There should be a Mamou in every town, the chef needs to clone himself and open up more shops. It's almost criminal that my friends in other states can't get his food. Even worse, when I go on vacation I can't go out for a nice evening…

Hot, Hot, Hot by tomconnelly via Citysearch on 9/14/2010

The food is great, it's spicy but it's not hot for hot's sake. It has flavor and texture and you can almost feel the care that the chef puts into it. The staff is friendly and jocular and really makes you feel welcome. The line to get…

Love it! by Katie B via Insider Pages on 1/19/2010

alligator lovers delight by Lori B via Insider Pages on 1/19/2008

Husband and son recently visited Big Mamou. They are now hooked. The alligator and sausage-with cornbread and the gumbo chicken were highlights. Dress is very casual.

Want a feel like you are in New Orleans..... by Kim F via Insider Pages on 1/16/2008

Big Mamou will make you feel like you are in New Orleans. Small place but go with a big appetite. Even if you have to wait outside you feel more than welcome and you have fun while you wait. Chef Wayne is amazing. His food is do die for.…

Great food by Janine I via Insider Pages on 11/26/2007

The Big Mamou has great cajun food! Chef Wayne makes a great gumbo. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. Prices are reasonable. Just be prepared to wait a while as this place has quite the following.

Good Canjun by Gina P via Insider Pages on 11/17/2007

The Big Mamou is nothing fancy but boy do they know how to cook. This is a BYOB restaurant so feel free to bring in a bottle of wine for your meal. The menu is a nice selection of spicy ethnic canjun.

Louisana cajun food by Roxann B via Insider Pages on 11/17/2007

Chef Wayne's is excellent. This place rocks. Chef Wayne has his own special sauce. The restaurant is small and you could end up waiting for a half an hour, to an hour. This restaurant is worth the wait. You bring you own beverage and have…

Cajun food by Megan R via Insider Pages on 11/14/2007

As a true Louisianian living in MA, this is where I go if I want my fix of real Cajun food. The etouffee is my favorite, but everything I have tried here makes me think of home. For desert, don't miss the sweet potato pie. This place is…

Just Wonderful Cajun Food by Mike S via Insider Pages on 11/11/2007

The Bib Mamou is an extraordinary place. This downtown Springfield restaurant is across the street from the main post office. Lunch is very reasonably priced with entrees averaging about $8 or so. I love the pork which is served with a…

Big Mamou by Kellie M via Insider Pages on 11/8/2007

Chef Wayne and his staff know how to do southern food. They have crawfish, shrimp, taliapa and alligator when in season. It its small with only a handful of tables and waiting is common. It is so worth the wait though. The place has a…
