One of the most basic types of material handling equipments is the hand truck. This is a simple platform on wheels with a sturdy back to it that lets you move several boxes at once, no matter how heavy they are, without putting forth effort and lifting anything. By tilting the hand truck, the leverage allows the weight to be distributed down into the platform instead, saving your back. These are most likely to be used in small offices for small moving jobs, or in grocery stores, post offices, retail settings, or anywhere else where boxes most be moved on a regular basis.
