Untruthful and Unprofessional by A. Chapman on 11/4/2024 On or about 5/29/24 I saw Mack Leach at the parts store he said he was fixing on the tubing of the radiator not matching up. I asked Mack Leach if he could do some work for me on my driveway. He said text me your address and I will be there at 7:00 am. He arrived around 7:30 am. I showed him the road and around my house. Mack Leach went on to say he was an honest man, and he was born again. Mack Leach said, "hell was hot." He went on to say that he was very reputable, and creditable and that he would never cheat anybody out of their money. He said he would rather do a job and if people did not pay him, he would settle for the loss. He then told me how the owner of a rental business owes him money and was going to court to pursue it. He told me that he charges $2800.00/day. He said that he has credit with Carolina Concrete Crushing and could order crushed concrete over the phone and he would haul it. I told Mack Leach; I needed a concrete pad poured near the house and not crushed concrete. He did not listen to me at all. Mack Leach said, “the Caucasian folk,” would not let him borrow any money. Then what he describes as a miracle happen, that the lady at the equipment store called him back and told him to get whatever you desire. He said, “the skid steer cost $70,000.” He said he was not busy today and he could start today which was about noontime. Mack Leach seemed upfront and honest, so I agree. He left. About 1 pm he returned and, he said, “I made it back.” He graded my road and nothing else. After Mr. Leach was finished, he told me that he would order the crushed concrete the following week because they are out and come back to spread it Tuesday June 4. He drew up the contract and I signed it and gave Mr. Leach $2800.00. And he once again reiterated that the following week of the June the 4th that he would hall the crushed concrete. Mr. Leach seemed creditable at first. He never returned. I need my $2000 to finish my drive before winter sets in.
