At Capital Health – Orthopedic Surgery Specialists, we take a collaborative approach that puts patients at the center of the care team. Patients are referred to Capital Health – Orthopedic Surgery Specialists by primary care providers and other clinicians when they present or are diagnosed with conditions that affect the bones, joints, and connecting tissue. Dr. Shakir, a general orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in hand surgery, works with referring physicians, radiologists, physical therapists and other clinicians to diagnose and treat patients experiencing pain in the joints, bones, ligaments, and tendons through medication, physical therapy, injections, or surgery.
