Specifix Prep

Specifix Prep uses an advanced, proprietary SAT assessment to identify a students particular strengths and weaknesses and create a truly customized program at a fraction of the price of traditional SAT instruction.

Students can work with one of our rock star teachers in person, online, or in classroom setting to improve their SAT scores. We also offer a self-study guide for students who prefer to study on their own.

History

Established in 2011.

Patrick Bock and Jay Casale were two of the country's most highly-requested SAT tutors while working for The Princeton Review. Students paid upwards of three hundred dollars an hour to work with them. Patrick gradually became disillusioned with the high-cost, low-quality materials he was using and began to design his own test preparation curriculum. To do so, he analyzed thousands of SAT questions to create the "Reasoning Test Genome Project." This analysis allowed him to map out every concept and skill tested on the SAT.

He then created an innovative diagnostic test that quickly identifies students' exact issues and allows him to create a 100% personalized syllabus. This approach creates effective, efficient programs and allows students to focus only on their areas of weakness.

In 2015, Patrick brought Jay on to bring Specifix to New Jersey. Together they have over 20 years of experience and have trained hundreds of instructors for the other guys.

Jay believes standardized tests are proof of evil, and has worked tirelessly for over 7 years to guide his students in the fight for good. He served as a Premier Tutor and Master Trainer for one of the largest test prep companies in the world, training teachers and tutors to emulate his delivery and approach. So, essentially, Jay is an SAT Superhero, and he does not take that responsibility lightly.

Jay believes that learning to ace the SAT requires more than just the mastery of tricks and strategies, and that standardized test preparation can and should go a long way toward creating a more well rounded student. His passion lies not only with helping students to gain acceptance to college, but also to appreciate the process of learning, so that they can achieve success once there.

It is this passion that brings Jay to Specifix. The perfect marriage of expertise and tools, Specifix is truly second to none, and a natural home for an SAT Superhero.
