La Luz Early Childhood Center

In August of 2002, La Luz ECC was opened in response to the lack of high quality childcare in the area. The school was originally formed and continues to be overseen by a board of directors affiliated with Sandia National Laboratory (SNL) and Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union. La Luz ECC is a state licensed, independently owned and operated 501(c)(3) school receiving all of its support from tuition income and from fundraising efforts.<br><br>La Luz Early Childhood Center (La Luz ECC), is a not for profit early childhood center for children, 6 weeks through 5 years of age.<br>Our mission is to offer a child-centered, learning environment providing developmentally appropriate care and education in a nurturing atmosphere designed to foster your child's social, physical and cognitive growth.<br><br>.The La Luz ECC implements a program that: <br><br><li>Recognizes & supports families as the child's primary teachers<br><li>Emphasizes the importance of relationships as key to the child's development<br><li>Works to provide children with the strong emotional foundation necessary for later academic success<br><li>Respects the individuality of each child<br><li>Develops each child's capacity for curiosity, self-control and self-confidence, empathy and the desire to learn and communicate<br><li>Provides opportunities for family involvement<br><li>Uses a play-based, child-centered, developmentally appropriate approach to learning<br><br>Call us today for more information about our programs.
