In Short
Carrie and Charlotte from "Sex and the City" would be tickled pink that the second branch of their favorite bakery has opened closer to their uptown apartments. Though the new location's handful of tables couldn't… Read Full Editorial

These cupcakes are nothing to brag about. They taste like a box mix cupcake with canned frosting. Simply...

Yum Yum Yummy! by Cynthia G via Insider Pages on 5/31/2011

There are tons of bakeries across Manhattan and several stand out as being the most excellent. Why Magnolia? Maybe it?s the delicious tasting frosting, or scrumptious cake part. Or maybe it was the lovely surprise my secret Santa gave…

Magnolia Bakery is delicious! by Jaimie B via Insider Pages on 11/7/2009

If there's no line, go to Magnola. The cupcakes are somewhat overhyped, but still really tasty, and their icebox cake is amazing! Cute spot in midtown, and great for satisfying a sweet tooth.

Lots of space by micqa via Citysearch on 4/8/2009

Love the convenience of parking on the street close to the bakery. So much space to move around from cupcake, cookies, cakes and drinks.

whipped cream dreams by lawrencevillemom via Citysearch on 3/23/2009

inside smells like a dream, red velvet cupcakes are slapp your momma good, banana pudding tastes like what your southern grandma would make if you had one....\r \r a little crowded, but well worth the wait.

Like butter? Magnolia is for you. by moviemogul via Citysearch on 1/8/2009

Best cakes, good location. Magnolia Bakery made cupcakes a nationwide food fad. People claim the downtown location is best, but this Upper West location will fill your fix.

Is it worth the line? by Rima B via Insider Pages on 10/23/2008

I love cupcakes. I love cake. This upper west side branch of the village bakery has these galore. There's more icing than cake. There's also more lines waiting than I can understand. It's good. But is it really that good? Personally…

Delicious Cupcakes! by Jessica R via Insider Pages on 10/19/2008

I love their cupcakes and their location. The only problem is, this place can be super packed in the afternoon. Once I went here around 3 p.m. on a Tuesday, and the line was out the door and around the corner.

This has the best cupcakes around. They are moist and they look beautiful. We bought some then walked across the street to the park and ate them. There is a small line to get in but worth the wait. It has great other desserts as well.

great cupcakes, half the wait! by Destiny T via Insider Pages on 7/8/2008

I have been a big fan of Magnolia Bakery down off Bleeker street for many years. I hated schleeping all the way across town and then having to wait in line for 30 minutes just to get a cupcake. I was very pleased to see that Magnolia…

Delighted With Quality and Convenience of New Location! by lzybeanie via Citysearch on 6/11/2008

The new location is super-convenient and the quality of the cupcakes is just as good as their downtown location - that is to say OUTSTANDING! I love Magnolia cupcakes and was excited to hear of their new uptown location. It's more spacious…

DRY LIKE TOAST! by mtmichel via Citysearch on 6/10/2008

I will never eat another cupcake from this place, even if it was free. I love baked goods and was very impressed by the decor and ambiance of this place but the chocolate cupcake and the red velvet cake were the worse me and my husband…

Try some other place by Maureen310 via Citysearch on 3/27/2008

The cupcakes here are highly overrated. They are very expensive and not worth the price. I have had better cupcakes in NYC. The service is quite rude - they do not seem to be interested in helping the customer just want to take their…

Decent cupcakes with rude service by melee98 via Citysearch on 2/26/2008

The cupcakes are what they are. They taste good enough, but they're a bit much and a poor value at $2.25+.\r \r But the service was really awful! I was there yesterday afternoon, and the staff was pretty rude. Examples: \r \r * Before…
