The Scene
The Blue Danube has nothing in common with the Johann Strauss symphony or the Hungarian river, except that it's also a touchstone. It originally opened its doors in 1940, and while the ownership has changed, the place… Read Full Editorial
Hang-Out Diner by North Campus via Citysearch on 3/25/2011
If you want to meet a friend, do it here!
The wait staff is great. They're quick with you order and they don't try to settle your tab as soon as you finish, so you can keep talking. The bar is fully loaded--hundreds of liquors.
The food…

There is a varied menu with some great Greek food. Their humus is outstanding and the baklava is scrumptous. Servers are pretty good and there are specials everyday. The food is always hot and tasty!
Great environment, great prices by shaun43123 via Citysearch on 1/26/2008
If you are looking for a unique place to eat, try this place! It is down by the Ohio State Campus, so it might be a little crowded, but its worth the trip! Try the meatloaf!
A Columbus Institution by xerxes31082 via Citysearch on 10/13/2006
For people who remember and love the 'Dube from its glory days, things have changed. The food is much more expensive (though now edible and even good), you can't smoke, but then again there are no more 16 y/o kids trying to get served or…
Pretty good by W. S via Insider Pages on 10/10/2006
I was at the blue danube for lunch with some co-workers. The atmosphere is kinda retro, the service was pretty good and the food was satisfactory. All and all a fairly enjoyable experience.
PROS: service
CONS: food was ok
food has gotten much better recently... by mambo_jambo via Citysearch on 7/15/2006
I've lived down the block from the Dube for six years. Up till recently, hamburgers were consistently overcooked, fries were mushy and undercooked, and other diner food - like meatloaf - was even worse. I don't know what happened, but I'm…
when you're poor.... by xladyrebelx via Citysearch on 7/2/2006
structurally, this place is a hole in the wall but the food is awesome and it's a great place to hang out when you're on campus, when you're poor, and when you just feel like hanging out any time of the week.
campus staple by Anne T. via Judy's Book on 8/15/2005
The Dube is definitely a campus staple. The menu is quite large, serving a variety of comfort food from many different countries (not really authentic ethnic food, but still good). Lots of vegetarian options and good daily food and drink…
rude servers by ringadingdong via Citysearch on 8/12/2005
my friend and i upon sitting down in one of the booths was rudely told by a server, "all my tables just filled up, i'm not going to be able to serve you for awhile" and quickly walked away. she didn't even offer us water nor did she give…
Campus Favorite! by Meghan A. via Judy's Book on 7/12/2005
If you are in the Ohio State Campus area, and you're hungry, you MUST stop in to the blue danube (called the "blue dube" by locals) for something to eat. You'll be AMAZED by the decor. You'll feel like your neck is going to break--either…
The Dube Rules by unclefun via Citysearch on 2/1/2005
I've eaten here for about 10 years now, and it's still a real comfort food, steadying gastronomical rock.
The Dube Rules You by tribal_level via Citysearch on 7/9/2004
The Blue Danube, affectionately called "the Dube," is the best late night restaurant in Columbus. But it's not just for night time, it is excellent at all hours of the day. The service nowadays is very good, but it has a reputation for…
The Dube Rocks! by posterica via Citysearch on 12/25/2002
The Blue Danube is by far the best bargain in Columbus for great food! Great atmosphere, with a bar setup plus quieter dining towards the back. I spent many a lunch and dinner at the Dube, and it's my first stop whenever I'm back there!
"the dube" gets my two thumbs up by saroo1 via Citysearch on 10/3/2002

i go quite often and it provides a place for my friends and i to unwind and hang out after a long day at class and work.
Cheap eats! by kerstinsjoberg via Citysearch on 8/23/2002
Good and cheap eats, but you need to find your way around the menu - know what to avoid and what is consistently good. Hint: don't order the steak, go for the open face sandwiches or a burger.
Stamina by mfwaters via Citysearch on 8/14/2002
This bar/restaurant has been around just about as long as dirt. It's cheap and the quality keeps on kickin. However the waiters are not known for their service...
Good for late-night munchies by daisies4me via Citysearch on 8/12/2002
The onion rings, nachos, and cheese sticks are the best!!!!
"The Dube" by nfrey21 via Citysearch on 7/29/2002
Diversity, low prices, great music. Anyone who's been to the Dube has (1) probably gone back and (2) knows that it is not your average diner. Not much to say other than "go try it out". The atmosphere is classic and you will not…
obviously under-rated by sniper11 via Citysearch on 7/22/2002
The Blue Danube is a fabulous resturant if you stick to what they make best, personally I find that their burgers and chicken strips are excellant. The food is easily enjoyable by everyone, but the experiance is slightly eccentric and…
