Claycomb Excavating, headquartered in New Enterprise, Pennsylvania, is a registered contractor with the state of Pennsylvania (License number PA046970). The owner Jon Claycomb brings 25 years of experience to the company. Employees have a minimum of 14 years of experience.

Claycomb Excavating’s forte is commercial work including clearing and earthmoving. Utilities include installation of new and replacement storm sewer, sanitary sewer, waterlines, etc. However, Claycomb Excavating is still your “go to” for your smaller projects including excavation of house foundations, road construction, land clearing, pool excavation, seeding & mulching, rock removal, and a mini excavator and a small dump truck service.

Wildlife habitat improvements includes Stream Bank restoration, livestock waterway crossings, Placement of fish habitat structure, construction of wetlands and planting of wetland plants, trees and shrubs as well as creating wildlife food plots to benefit PA’s white-tailed deer, woodcock, ruffed grouse, and the Eastern wild turkey.

We do wildlife habitat plantings in hardwood forests, in clear cuts or select cuts for forest regeneration also do riparian plantings. Lois, our planting crew leader has over 15 years of planting experience while she holds a Wildlife Technology Degree from Penn State University to give you technical support also.

While being a subcontractor for BluAcres, LLC, Lois provided technical support during a vegetation study that was done at USACE- Raystown Lake Project to gather plot and transect level vegetation data, complete GIS data collection for a Vegetation Forage Study at that included collecting growing season vegetation data by completing 180 growing season vegetation plots in the 18 forest compartments, collecting regeneration and plant diversity data by completing plot sets within and outside fenced deer enclosures and collecting post-growing season browse data.

Some of the government agencies we work with are Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS), United States Army Corps of Engineers – Raystown Lake Project, National Fish & Wildlife Service, the Pennsylvania Game Commission, PA Fish Commission, and Department Environmental Protection.
