Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Hasbro Children's Hospital

At Hasbro Children's Hospital pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) the physicians and staff admit and treat infants and children through 18 years of age. If a child needs intensive care, we bring the child to our pediatric intensive care unit as soon as possible, often within minutes. If a critically ill child has been taken first to another hospital, we have a pediatric transport team, consisting of a doctor, an intensive care nurse and a respiratory therapist (if needed), that can be dispatched to the referring hospital to help stabilize the child and bring the child to Hasbro Children's Hospital.
