Mission Statement

The mission of Greater Little Zion Baptist Church is to lead everyone to a full life of development in Christ.

Dr. Murphy is a native of Alexandria, Virginia and a graduate of its public school system. After becoming a Christian in April of 1976, he acknowledged his calling into the gospel ministry in 1982. After being licensed to preach in 1982, ordained in 1983, he began and continues his journey of academic preparation for the gospel ministry.

The Rev. Estelle Chandler was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the marital union of Alvin H. and Nellie E. Sweet-Wilson. From an early age, she came to know the Lord and His power of prayer. At age 12, she accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior being baptized into the CME Methodist Church. Until she went away to college, she was active in every child and youth activity of the church. Later, Rev. Chandler and her sons were bapitized by immersion at her home church Calvary Baptist Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin by the Rev. Tommie Mims.

Her ministry gift is teaching, primarily to youth audiences, especially girls, ages 10-18. "When you are young, life is meant to be fun and carefree." As a result, Rev. Jeter strives to help young people avoid unnecessary struggles and problems. Additionally, she believes that her gift can be used to propel youth into their destiny. Kimberly wants them to stay focused, not be drawn off course, and succeed in every area of life. “They were created for purpose and they are important to God and me.”
