Our practice deals primarily with adult endocrinology. Dr. Silver also deals with limited pediatric endocrinology. Endocrinology is the medical specialty concerned with treating the various diseases of the endocrine system, commonly referred to as the hormonal system. <br><br>Dr. Mark Alan Silver is board-certified in both endocrinology and internal medicine, and specializes in diabetes and adult and pediatric endocrinology.<br><br>A native of Philadelphia, PA, Dr. Silver received his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan. He attended medical school at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and went on to complete a three-year residency in Internal Medicine at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He continued with a two-year subspecialty training program in endocrinology and diabetes, also at George Washington University Hospital.
