Graland Country Day School

On behalf of Graland Country Day School, welcome to our online community. The touchstone of our School is student learning. Simple, right? In a day when "educational" decisions can be driven by so many factors: test scores, fundraising and funding, discipline and social issues, we never lose sight of why we're really here, and that is to teach children; to prepare them not only academically, but to be responsible, caring, effective, and active citizens of the world. We strive to admit, nurture, and graduate students from diverse experiences and backgrounds who will make a difference to their families, their employers, their communities, and their world. We yearn for students to see first-hand how a healthy community works and how individuals can contribute to the strength of the community as they grow as individuals. We are a school known for the close and enduring relationships between students and teachers, and as a place where students make some of the most important and enduring friendships with one another.

Originating as a "country" school, Graland is now an urban center of learning in the heart of Denver. We take an active role in our neighborhood and community, whether in the downtown soup kitchen or the mountain hiking trail. We enjoy and appreciate the Colorado outdoors, and students learn to become the stewards of their surroundings. It is a place where youngsters are safe. They can take appropriate risks. They can spread their wings and attempt new flights while secure in the knowledge that they are known and loved by an extended school family. Our motto carries both a literal and inspirational meaning for children here: Ascende Omnem Montem, or Climb Every Mountain.
