Matthew D. Forrester, MD

Dr. Forrester is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon with a breadth of experience in heart and chest surgery, including treating aneurysms (a bulging or ballooning in the artery). He is one of few cardiothoracic surgeons in the United States that perform aortic valve repair procedures. Other areas of specialization for Dr. Forrester include aortic root reconstruction, aortic valve repair and replacements, and Ross Procedures, a cardiac surgery in which a diseased aortic valve is replaced with the patient's own pulmonary valve. Dr. Forrester completed his residency at Stanford University Hospital and Clinic before moving to Spokane in 2013 to join the Heart Institute Team at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center.
