In Short
Operating out of an old house, this small Creole and Cajun breakfast institution has been a Boulder favorite for years. Although Lucile's does serve lunch, breakfast is the specialty--and it's popular; expect up to an… Read Full Editorial
Delicious! by Sara B via Insider Pages on 11/10/2011
I love this place. The food is locally grown and tastes extremely fresh. I am obsessed. I brought my parents here when they came to visit. Its in a cute little old house as well which just adds a touch to the character.
Best Breakfast by Scott G via Insider Pages on 12/29/2010
Best breakfast in Colorado. All housemade so even the ketchup is wonderful...biscuits with strawberry-rhubarb jam to die for. The wait can be long.
Cajun in Boulder by Joshua C via Insider Pages on 4/15/2010
Worth the wait! This location keeps the tradition just like other Lucile's. Cajun style breakfasts are the best. Arrive early for the least time to wait.
Amazing! by Carey B via Insider Pages on 2/23/2010
Lucile's is THE best place for breakfast in Boulder. The food is unbelievably delicious! I always take out of town guest here. The location is great; right next to the Pearl Street Mall. Make sure to order the beignets as a treat to go…
You Snooze... You Lose by M. R via Insider Pages on 1/16/2010
My favorite of all breakfast places in the Boulder area. There's another location in Longmont. Two problems: (1) parking is a pain and (2) it's everyone's favorite breakfast spot. So... get there before 8:30. 8:00 is even better.
Vegetarians Beware! by pcava via Citysearch on 11/16/2008
Don't get me wrong. Luciles is a great place with good food and cool ambience but without fail I always get sausage in my potatoes which is excusable once but three times in a row is a little silly. Maybe its my fault and sausage is…
One of the best breakfasts in Boulder by BldrDan via Citysearch on 10/19/2008
This was a nice little suprise to find. I moved to Boulder 4 years ago and never really knew what this place actually was. Glad I found out. This is THE breakfast place to take guests, ie visitors to Boulder!\r
The food is like going to…
Lucile's by Susan H via Insider Pages on 9/3/2008
The first experience I had eating creole food was at Lucile's. It was a delicious introduction to eating New Orleans style dishes. It definitely was not my only meal there. Lucile's is located in a refurbished Victorian house. It is a…
good food but lacks ambience except for the outdoor seating area by glindadc via Citysearch on 8/19/2007
The food at Lucille's is always good, aside from an excessive fondness for cilantro which doesn't belong in creole food. The ambience unfortuantely doesn't match. Indoor, the tables are packed together and it is always stuffy and…

I am a local and Lucile's is in the top five. Its home setting, location, and food can't be beat. It can get crowded though since it is small. It's worth the wait.
Best Creole Breakfast by maile o. via Judy's Book on 12/27/2006
Lucile's homemakes everything...the ketchup, fruit jams, softball sized biscuits and lots more. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is super cozy. Breakfast and lunch fare is offered with a twist of New Orleans. Make sure to try the…
Po' Boy by ihatefalafelking via Citysearch on 12/11/2006
The andouille Po' Boy is amazing. As is everything on the menu. The have fantastic orange juice as well. There is always a crowd on the weekends, so plan on a bit of a wait. It is my favorite breakfast place in town!
Best Cajun Breakfast by erobe via Citysearch on 6/24/2006
Being a Louisiana native who left well before the hurricanes, this is the closest you will get to a real Cajun/Creole breakfast outside of my wife's kitchen. There is a wait on week-ends even if you go early but the wait is worth it. They…
Authenitc New Orleans by pat l. via Judy's Book on 12/12/2005
Open for breakfast and lunch, this is the real deal if you are looking for a New Orleans fix right down to the beginets and chickory coffee.
Great breakfast! by comtnfish via Citysearch on 1/14/2005
I am now living on the east coast, and my friends & I were talking about Mardi Gras coming up, and it made me really miss living in Boulder & going to breakfast at Lucille's! This restaurant is one of the best breakfast places anywhere.…
A great find by TexZilla via Citysearch on 7/24/2004
New Orleans is the best breakfast city in the world. Every restaurant, even a dive, can usually serve a decent plate of eggs dressed with hollandaise in some variation. Lucile's is a gem for a great morning meal. The beignets are as…
Down-home southern goodness by darciflint via Citysearch on 4/10/2004
If you are looking for a great big plate of cjun yummies, Lucile's is the place to go. From beneits to biscuits and gravy better than Grandma's, you can't lose. For a real treat, try a hot cup of chicory coffee to top off your meal.

Very good Cajun/Creole food. Love the binettes and Eggs Benedict.
You've got to check this out! by tlmurf via Citysearch on 11/15/2002
Don't just order bacon and eggs - take advantage of the unique dishes. The flavor combinations will impress you! Great non-corporate atmosphere and attentive staff. My favorite pick = eggplant/eggs/benedict dish, cajun potatoes,…
