While a college student at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria, Yemi played soccer, was on the swim team, and was a member of Rotary International. After receiving his bachelor's degree in BSc Statistics in 2007, Yemi moved to the United States and worked briefly as a concierge at a condominium complex.
